One of many revered holes at the club is the Par 3, No. 11 that boasts one of the Mid-Atlantic region’s only island greens. Golfers are also “wowed” by a striking waterfall feeding twin ponds which flank the No. 9 and No. 18 greens. Like other Dye designs, the course features his trademark railroad ties and pot bunkers throughout, and is the only layout in Maryland with Penn G-2 bent grass greens, a new seed variety also used at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina. Impeccable conditioning, closely-mowed collection areas and sizable, undulating greens replicate PGA TOUR set-ups. The large, firm fairways – many rolling downhill from tee boxes and well-guarded by bunkers – are receptive to big drives and allow for spectacular tee shots. The elegant clubhouse – home to The Grill at P.B. Dye – features floor-to-ceiling windows with breathtaking views of the golf course and surrounding mountains. A large, wrap-around patio overlooks the waterfall and greens on the No. 9 and No. 18 holes.
